Ok, here is the first Lightbulb,
And this is a must to follow if you want
to really be able to work on the Internet.
You do need a good working Firewall with
a good virusprotection included.
You also need to have that installed before
connecting to the Internet the first time.
Many people make that big misstake,
they think they can do that after going online.
Wrong! Not good at all!
In most cases they get infected at once.
If they are running WinXP, they feel secured
knowing that in servicepack2 there is a Firewall
provided.
Guess again? To be infected really bad it is enough
to connect to the Internet in the first place.
Without a good Firewall you might get really bad
viruses and even nasty Trojans with the servicepack2 download.
Trust me, I have been there, done that and tried everything.
However there is hope.
A year ago, after a really bad pc crash, caused by a nasty Trojan,
I found something that is working for me.
Not free however, it did cost, but that was well spent money
since I havenīt had one single attack after installing that.
Itīs called F-Secure and comes with both a virusprogram and in version
2005, a separate Adaware too.
It is from Finland and held to be one of the best, if not *the best*.

Anyway, whatever you are using, make sure you remember to install
it first before connecting to the Internet, after doing a formatC: for ex.
If the worst happens to you and you need to do a format C: after a pc crash,
remember to install whatever Firewall you are using first.
Itīs ok to run the Win CD offline, you donīt have to be connected to get that
finished, however the next step must always be to install the Firewall.
Otherwise you might have to start all over again!
